۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 “Instead of Allah – and herd them to the path leading to hell.” 23 and stop them there for questioning: 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 In fact, on that day they will be submissive. 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 They will reply: "Nay, ye yourselves had no Faith! 29 “And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.” 30 So on us hath been justified the sentence of our Lord: verily we are to taste. 31 So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring. 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 Lo! thus deal We with the guilty. 34 Truly, when it was said to them: La ilaha ill-Allah "(none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)," they puffed themselves up with pride (i.e. denied it). 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 (They say so although) he brought the Truth and confirmed the veracity of the Messengers. 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do - 39 But the sincere servants of God 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 Facing one another on thrones, 44 There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring, 45 white, sparkling (wine), a delight to the drinkers. 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 And they will all turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 Who used to say: Art thou in truth of those who put faith (in his words)? 52 That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'" 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 Then he will say [to his blessed companions], "Are we not going to die, 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is that better by way of hospitality or the Zaqqum tree, 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire, 64 and its fruits are like devils' heads. 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 They found their fathers had gone astray; 69 and they are running in their footsteps. 70 And assuredly many of the ancients went astray before them, 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
