Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Calamity! 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 And what could make thee conceive what that laying-bare of the truth will be? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Aad belied the Striking Day. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 which God let loose against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you could have seen its people lying prostrate as though they were the hollow trunks of palm-trees which had fallen down. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains are borne away and crushed with a single crushing. 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for it will that Day be flimsy, 16 and the angels [will appear] at its ends, and above them, eight will bear aloft on that Day the throne of thy Sustainer's almightiness… 17 On that day all of you will be brought forth, so none among you wishing to hide will be able to hide. 18 Then he who is given his record in his right hand will exclaim, "Here is my record, read it. 19 “I was certain that I will confront my account.” 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 The fruits in bunches whereof will be low and near at hand. 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 But he who is given his record in his left hand will say, "If only I had never been given my Record 25 and had not known my account. 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 Of no use was even my wealth. 28 Gone from me is my authority." 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 they did not believe in the great God, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 and has no food except the filth from the washing of wounds, 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
