And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 He said: Lo! ye are folk unknown (to me). 62 They said, "No, but we bring you news about what they disputed, 63 And bring thee the Truth, and lo! we are truth-tellers. 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 We communicated to him Our decree that the guilty ones would be destroyed by the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 Lut said: "These are my guests: disgrace me not: 68 "And do not disgrace me. Have some fear of God." 69 They said, 'Have we not forbidden thee all beings?' 70 He said: "There are my daughters (to marry), if ye must act (so)." 71 By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly. 72 At sunrise a dreadful Shout seized them. 73 And We turned (the cities) upside down, and rained down on them brimstones hard as baked clay. 74 Verily, in all this there are messages indeed for those who can read the signs: 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 surely in this there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers. 78 So We inflicted retribution on them, and they are both, indeed, on an open road (still) pursued. 79
