Hizb 46
< random >
And, verily, Yunus (Jonah) was one of the Messengers. 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 So he shared (with them), but was of those who are cast off. 141 and the fish swallowed him while he was blaming himself. 142 But had it not been that he was of those who glorify (Us), 143 He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. 145 and caused a gourd tree to grow over him, 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 AND NOW ask them to enlighten thee: Has thy Sustainer daughters, whereas they would have [only] sons? 149 Or that have We created the angels as females, while they were present? 150 Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. 151 "God has begotten (children)?" They are liars indeed! 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 Why do you not reflect? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 Exaltations to Allah above what they describe, 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 So you and your deities 161 Cannot lead astray [turn away from Him (Allah) anyone of the believers], 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 “And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.” 165 And we are they who exalt (Allah)' 166 Even though they (unbelievers) say, 167 "If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 Yet (now that it is come) they disbelieve therein; but they will come to know. 170 We have already given Our promise to Our Messengers 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 So turn away from them for a while. 174 and see them [for what they are]; and in time they [too] will come to see [what they do not see now]. 175 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 176 When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned! 177 So turn (O Muhammad SAW) away from them for a while, 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe. 180 And peace be upon all His message-bearers! 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
