The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 and when the scrolls of (men's) deeds shall be unfolded, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 Oh, but I call to witness the planets, 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 of power, given a rank by the Owner of the Throne 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
