And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: we worship idols, and we are unto them ever devoted 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate? 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 you and your forefathers -- 76 they are all my enemies, not so the Lord of the Universe, 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 He who gives me food and drink; 79 and when I fall ill, is the One who restores me to health, 80 who makes me to die and then revives me, 81 And He Who, I long, shall forgive me my faults, on the Day of Requital. 82 My Lord! bestow on me wisdom and join me with the righteous. 83 "Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations); 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 The Day whereon will profit neither substance nor sons. 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 and Hell advanced for the perverse. 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 instead of God? Can these [things and beings] be of any help to you or to themselves?" 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 and so too the hosts of Iblis, all of them. 95 They will dispute between themselves therein, and will say, 96 "By Allah, we were surely in clear error 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 It was the evildoers who led us astray, 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 And not a devoted friend. 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
