Hizb 46
< random >
Verily Jonah is one of the apostles. 139 [Mention] when he ran away to the laden ship. 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 And a fish swallowed him, and he was reproaching himself. 142 And had he not been of those who [even in the deep darkness of their distress are able to] extol God's limitless glory, 143 He would have indeed remained inside its belly (the fish) till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (people) or even more. 147 And they believed, therefor We gave them comfort for a while. 148 AND NOW ask them to enlighten thee: Has thy Sustainer daughters, whereas they would have [only] sons? 149 Or did We make the angels females, and they witnessed it? 150 Then is it of their lying that they say: 151 God hath begotten. Verily they are the liars. 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 “What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!” 154 Will ye not then receive admonition? 155 Or have you received some clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 And they have appointed a relationship between Him and the jinns; and indeed the jinns surely know that they will be brought forth. 158 Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the things they ascribe (to Him)! 159 except the servants of God, sincere and devoted. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 cannot mislead anyone 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 Of us there is none but hath a station assigned. 164 Verily, we (angels), we stand in rows for the prayers (as you Muslims stand in rows for your prayers); 165 Lo! we, even we are they who hymn His praise 166 What, would they then say: 167 'If only we had had a Reminder from the ancients, 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 that it is certainly they who will be helped; 172 and that Our hosts shall triumph. 173 Therefore turn away from them till a time, 174 And watch them, for they will soon see. 175 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 176 Then, when it descends into their courtyard (i.e. near to them), evil will be the morning for those who had been warned! 177 Hence, turn thou aside for a while from them, 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being. 182
God the Almighty always says the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
