Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, brought out a fatted calf, 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." 29 They answered: "Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and verily, He alone is truly wise, all-knowing!" 30 ۞ Said he, 'And what is your business, envoys?' 31 They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, 32 “To throw upon them stones of baked clay.” 33 marked out in thy Sustainer's sight for [the punishment of] such as have wasted their own selves." 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 but We found only one Muslim house. 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 So We took him and his hosts, and dumped them into the sea, while he was to be blamed. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 that left nothing it came upon, but made it as stuff decayed. 42 And also in Thamood, when it was said to them, 'Take your enjoyment for a while!' 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 And before them the nation of Noah, indeed they were a debauched nation. 46
