Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
