The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the morning brightness 1 And the night when dark and still, 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee nor doth He hate thee, 3 Indeed what is to come will be better for you than what has gone by. 4 And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 Did He not find you a wanderer so He guided you? 7 Did He not find you in want, and make you free from want? 8 Therefore, be not harsh with the orphan; 9 And as for him who asks, do not chide (him), 10 And as for the favor of your Lord, do announce (it). 11
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
