O ye messengers! Eat of the good things, and do right. Lo! I am Aware of what ye do. 51 And indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me." 52 But they cut off their religion among themselves into sects, each part rejoicing in that which is with them. 53 Therefore leave them in their overwhelming ignorance till 54 Do they think that by increasing their wealth and children 55 We provide them with the means of competing with each other in virtuous deeds, but they do not realize this. 56 Surely those who stand in awe for fear of their Lord, 57 And those who in the signs of their Lord do believe. 58 And those who do not ascribe any partner to their Lord – 59 and those who give what they give, their hearts quaking that they are returning to their Lord -- 60 These are hastening on to good, and they are therein foremost. 61 And We charge no soul except [with that within] its capacity, and with Us is a record which speaks with truth; and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, their hearts are lost in ignorance of all this; and their deeds too vary from the way (mentioned above). They will persist in these deeds 63 Until when We seize their affluent ones with punishment, at once they are crying [to Allah] for help. 64 'Groan not today; surely you shall not be helped from Us. 65 Surely My signs have been rehearsed unto you, and upon your heel ye were wont to draw back. 66 Insolently, treating them like tales told at night." 67 Then have they not reflected over the Qur'an, or has there come to them that which had not come to their forefathers? 68 Or is it, perchance, that they have not recognized their Apostle, and so they disavow him? 69 Or, say they: in him is madness? O Aye he brought them the truth, and most of them to the truth are averse. 70 Had truth been subject to their whims the heavens and the earth and all those within them would have been depraved. In fact We had sent them their reminder, but they turned away from good advice. 71 Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers. 72 And indeed, you invite them to a straight path. 73 but, behold, those who will not believe in the life to come are bound to deviate from that way. 74 ۞ Even if We were to grant them mercy and rescue them from hardship, they would still blindly persist in their rebellion. 75 Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray, 76 Until when We shall open upon them a portal of severe torment, and lo! thereat they are desparing. 77
