Has the story of Abraham's honoured guests come to you? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, and brought a fatted calf, 26 And placed it before them, (saying): "Will you not eat?" 27 So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge. 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." 30 ۞ Said [Abraham]: "And what [else] may you have in view, O you [heavenly] messengers?" 31 They said: verily we are sent unto a people, guilty. 32 That we may send upon them stones of clay, 33 Marked by your Lord for those who waste their substance." 34 So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, 35 But did not find more than a single family of believers. 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. 38 But Pharaoh turned away, showing arrogance on account of his power, and said (about Moses): “He is either a sorcerer or a madman.” 39 We seized him and his hosts, and cast them all into the sea: and [none but Pharaoh] himself was to blame [for what happened]. 40 And in Aad. We let loose on them a withering wind 41 that left nothing it came upon, but made it as stuff decayed. 42 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” 43 They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. 44 they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. 45 And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. 46
