Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
