Al-Aadeyaat
The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By oath of those that sprint, breathing heavily. (The horses used in Holy War.) 1 striking sparks of fire with their hooves, 2 And scouring to the raid at dawn 3 thereby raising clouds of dust, 4 Then penetrate to the centre of the enemy army. 5 Indeed, the human is ungrateful to his Lord. 6 And to that (fact) he bears witness (by his deeds); 7 And verily, he is violent in the love of wealth. 8 ۞ Does he not know,- when that which is in the graves is scattered abroad 9 and that which is in the chest is brought out, 10 On that day will their Lord be perfectly informed concerning them. 11
