And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayest be of the warners, 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 Truly, it is in the Books of the ancients. 196 Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 If We had sent it down on a barbarian 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners. 200 They will not believe it until they behold the painful punishment. 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 they say: "Can we be granted some respite?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 And then cometh that which they were promised, 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 And We destroyed no township but it had its warners 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 It was not the devils who brought down the Quran: 210 It is not meet for them, nor is it in their power, 211 They have been precluded from hearing it. 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 And warn your tribe (O Muhammad SAW) of near kindred. 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 And if they (thy kinsfolk) disobey thee, say: Lo! I am innocent of what they do. 216 Put your trust in the Almighty, the Most Merciful, 217 who sees you when you stand 218 And your movements among those who fall prostrate (along with you to Allah in the five compulsory congregational prayers). 219 For it is He Who heareth and knoweth all things. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 Only the erring people follow the poets. 224 Have you not seen them wandering and bewildered in every valley 225 and they say what they do not do? 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
