Bring to mind Our servant Job who cried to his Lord, "Satan has afflicted me with distress and suffering." 41 [So he was told], "Strike [the ground] with your foot; this is a [spring for] a cool bath and drink." 42 And We gave him (back) his people, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who have Understanding. 43 [And finally We told him:] "Now take in thy hand a small bunch of grass, and strike therewith, and thou wilt not break thine oath!" for, verily, We found him full of patience in adversity: how excellent a servant [of Ours,] who, behold, would always turn unto Us! 44 And remember Our servants, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - those of strength and [religious] vision. 45 Verily We did choose them for a special (purpose)- proclaiming the Message of the Hereafter. 46 And in Our sight, they are indeed the chosen ones, the beloved. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha and Dhu'l-Kifl. Every one of them is among the best. 48 This is a Reminder. The righteous shall have a good place to return to: 49 the Gardens of eternity with gates thrown wide open to them. 50 They will be resting therein and will be able to ask for many kinds of fruit and drink. 51 ۞ with them, they will have pure, modest women of an equal age. 52 Such is the Promise made, to you for the Day of Account! 53 this, verily, shall be Our provision [for you,] with no end to it! 54 This (for the virtuous); but for the transgressors the evil destination, 55 Hell; which they shall enter; what an evil resting-place! 56 This is for the criminals – so that they may taste it – boiling hot water and pus. 57 And other (punishment) of the same kind-- of various sorts. 58 This is an army plunging in without consideration along with you; no welcome for them, surely they shall enter fire. 59 [And] they [who had been seduced] will exclaim: "Nay, but it is you! No welcome to you! It is you who have prepared this for us: and how vile a state to abide in!" 60 They say: Our Lord! Whoever did prepare this for us, oh, give him double portion of the Fire! 61 And they say, “What is the matter with us that we do not see the men whom we thought were evil?” 62 Is it [because] we took them in ridicule, or has [our] vision turned away from them?" 63 This contending of the inmates of Hell will surely be real. 64
