The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 He created man from a clot of blood. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 Nay, surely man transgresses; 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 What thinkest thou? If he were upon guidance 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 What thinkest thou? If he cries lies, and turns away - 13 Does he not know that God sees? 14 And yet indeed if he does not desist We shall drag him by the forelock, 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 So let him call his associates, 17 We will call the guards of hell. 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
