The people of al-Hijr also rejected Our messengers: 80 We brought them signs, but they turned away. 81 Out of the mountains did they hew (their) edifices, (feeling themselves) secure. 82 the blast overtook them early one morning. 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 We have not created but with reason the heavens and the earth and all that lies within them. The Hour (of the great change) is certain to come. So turn away (from them) with a grace. 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator and knows (everything). 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 and say, 'Surely, I am the manifest warner.' 89 (We have given you the Quran) as We had given (the Bible) to those who divided themselves into groups 90 and who have broken the Scripture into fragments -- 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 About all what they used to do. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 Who set up along with Allah another ilah (god), they will come to know. 96 And assuredly We know that thou straitenest thy breast by that which they say. 97 Exalt with the praise of your Lord and be one of those who prostrate. 98 and worship your Lord until the last moment (of your life) that will most certainly come. 99
