۞ [And God will thus command:] "Assemble all those who were bent on evildoing, together with others of their ilk and [with] all that they were wont to worship 22 Other than God," (the angels will be told), "then show them the way to Hell, 23 And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned." 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 But they, that Day, are in surrender. 26 and approach each other with questions, 27 They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the truth). 28 They answer: Nay, but ye (yourselves) were not believers. 29 Moreover, we had no power at all over you: nay, you were people filled with overweening arrogance! 30 “So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).” 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 For they, when they were told that there is no god except Allah, would puff themselves up with Pride, 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 and will be recompensed only for what you deserve. 39 But for the sincere worshipers of Allah, 40 For them there will be a known provision (in Paradise). 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 On couches facing one another; 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication; 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected. 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 who used to say: -- Are you also one of those who confirm the Truth (of life after death)? 52 "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 What, do we then not die 58 “Except our earlier death, and nor will we be punished?” 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 It is for the like of this that all should strive. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 which We have made as a test for the wrongdoers. 63 for, behold, it is a tree that grows in the very heart of the blazing fire [of hell,] 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 And verily they must eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 Then indeed, their return will be to the Hellfire. 68 They found their father going astray 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 74
