The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
