Hence, do not kill your children for fear of poverty: it is We who shall provide sustenance for them as well as for you. Verily, killing them is a great sin. 31 Do not draw near to fornication, for it is an indecency, and its way is evil. 32 And do not take any human being's life - [the life] which God has willed to be, sacred - otherwise than in [the pursuit of] justice. Hence, if anyone has been slain wrongfully, We have empowered the defender of his rights [to exact a just retribution]; but even so, let him not exceed the bounds of equity in [retributive] killing. [And as for him who has been slain wrongfully - ] behold, he is indeed succoured [by God]! 33 And come not near to the orphan's property except to improve it, until he attains the age of full strength. And fulfil (every) covenant. Verily! the covenant, will be questioned about. 34 Fill the measure when ye measure, and weigh with a right balance; that is meet, and better in the end. 35 And follow not that of which you have not the knowledge; surely the hearing and the sight and the heart, all of these, shall be questioned about that. 36 And walk not on the earth with conceit and arrogance. Verily, you can neither rend nor penetrate the earth, nor can you attain a stature like the mountains in height. 37 All this-- the evil of it-- is hateful in the sight of your Lord. 38 That is part of that wisdom which thy Lord hath revealed unto thee, and set not up thou along with Allah another god, lest thou be cast into Hell, reproved, rejected. 39 Then, has your Lord chosen you for [having] sons and taken from among the angels daughters? Indeed, you say a grave saying. 40
