۞ “Gather all the unjust persons and their spouses, and all that they used to worship!” – 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 and approach each other with questions, 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk. 30 Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 So they shall on that day be sharers in the chastisement one with another. 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 (They say so although) he brought the Truth and confirmed the veracity of the Messengers. 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 “And you will not be compensated except for your deeds.” 39 Save the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 40 shall have a known provision -- 41 Fruits. And they will be honoured 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 on couches facing each other. 44 With cups from a flowing stream being passed around, 45 White, delicious to the drinkers, 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 And with them shall be those who restrain the eyes, having beautiful eyes; 48 As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected. 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 who would say, "Are you a confirmer? 52 When we are dead and have become dust and bones, are we indeed going to be requited? 53 Allah will say: will ye look down? 54 Then, he will look and see him in the midst of Hell. 55 He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!” 56 But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned. 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 59 Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is this better as a welcome, or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 (Zaqqum) is a tree which grows from the deepest part of hell, 64 and its fruits are like devils' heads. 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 then on top of it they have a brew of boiling water, 67 They can only return to hell. 68 Surely they found their fathers going astray, 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 And We had already sent among them warners. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were admonished (but heeded not),- 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
