Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the manifest Book (that makes things clear, i.e. this Quran). 2 verily We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you may understand. 3 It is in the Origin of the Book with Us, sublime and wise. 4 Shall We turn away the Remembrance from you, for that you are a prodigal people? 5 And how many Prophets We did send among the earlier people! 6 And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him. 7 We therefore destroyed the people who were more forceful than these, and the example of the earlier ones has already gone by. 8 And if you ask them, “Who has created the heavens and the earth?”, they will surely say, “They are created by the Most Honourable, the All Knowing.” 9 He it is Who made this earth for you a cradle and made in it pathways for you that you may find the way to your destination; 10 It is He who sends water down from the sky in due measure, We revive dead land with it and likewise you will be resurrected from the grave, 11 and who created the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you ships and cattle such as you ride, 12 That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. 13 And to our Lord we shall surely return." 14 And they appoint for Him from His bondmen a part! Verily man is an ingrate manifest. 15
