The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the Mount, 1 And by the Book Inscribed. 2 on parchment for distribution, 3 by the much-frequented House, 4 and the uplifted roof 5 and the sea that is full 6 Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- 7 Of it there is no averter. 8 [It will come to pass] on the Day when the skies will be convulsed in [a great] convulsion, 9 And the mountains will move away with an awful movement. 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 Who, ignoring the Reality, engage in pleasantries. 12 The day on which they shall be driven away to the fire of hell with violence. 13 This is the Fire which you used to belie. 14 Is this magic? or ye still see not clearly! 15 [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do." 16 Surely the God-fearing shall be in Gardens and bliss, 17 rejoicing in all that their Sustainer will have granted them: for their Sustainer will have warded off from them all suffering through the blazing fire. 18 "Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do." 19 They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes. 20 The offspring of the believers will also follow them to Paradise. So shall We join their offspring to them because of their faith. We shall reduce nothing from their deeds. Everyone will be responsible for his own actions. 21 And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire. 22 In it, they accept cups from each other, in which is neither any lewdness nor any sin. 23 ۞ and youths, of their own, shall pass among them as if they were hidden pearls. 24 And one of them turned towards the other, questioning. 25 They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah]. 26 Wherefore Allah hath obliged us, and hath protected us from the torment of the Scorch. 27 Verily, we did invoke Him [alone] ere this: [and now He has shown us] that He alone is truly benign, a true dispenser of grace!" 28
