The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created the human 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
