The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 It will be only one scaring shout, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 then he mustered 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
