The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 the stars are made to fade away, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
