The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
