'Lord, open my breast,' said Moses, 25 and make my task easy for me, 26 Remove the defect of my tongue 27 that they may understand my words. 28 Appoint a deputy (for me) from my own people. 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Strengthen my back by him, 31 And let him share my task, 32 That we may sing Your praises much, 33 "And remember Thee without stint: 34 Verily, Thou seest all that is within us!" 35 The Lord said, "Moses, your request is granted. 36 And We had already conferred favor upon you another time, 37 When we inspired in thy mother that which is inspired, 38 “That, ‘Put him into a chest and cast it into the river, so the river shall deposit it on to a shore therefore one who is an enemy to Me and you, shall pick him up’; and I bestowed upon you love from Myself; and for you to be brought up in My sight.” 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 And I have attached thee to Myself. 41 Go you and your brother with My communications and be not remiss in remembering Me; 42 Then go to the Pharaoh as he has become exceedingly rebellious. 43 Speak to him with gentle words; perhaps he will ponder or fear' 44 They said, "Our Lord, indeed we are afraid that he will hasten [punishment] against us or that he will transgress." 45 He said, “Do not fear I am with you, All Hearing and All Seeing.” 46 So go you both to Pharaoh, and say, "We are the Messengers of thy Lord, so send forth with us the Children of Israel and chastise them not; we have brought thee a sign from thy Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 Lo! it hath been revealed unto us that the doom will be for him who denieth and turneth away. 48 Said Firaun, “So who is the Lord of you both, O Moosa?” 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright. 50 He said: Then what is the state of the former generations? 51 Moses said, "My Lord alone has knowledge of that, recorded in a Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 The One Who has made the earth a bed for you and kept operative roads for you in it and sent down water from the sky; so with it We produced different pairs of vegetation. 53 so eat and graze your cattle. In this there are signs for men of understanding. 54
