The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe to those who give less [than due], 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), 4 On a mighty Day. 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. 7 And what will make you know what the Sijjin is? 8 A record of misdeeds written. 9 Woe on that Day to those who belied it, 10 Those that deny the Day of Judgment. 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 When Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!" 13 No indeed! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! 17 By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. 18 and what will make you understand what the 'Illiyyin is? -- 19 (There is) a Register (fully) inscribed, 20 witnessed by those who are near (to Allah). 21 The virtuous will live in bliss, 22 On couches, gazing, 23 You will recognise the freshness of serenity on their faces. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 its seal will be of musk -- for this let the aspirants aspire -- 26 a wine whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 Verily! (During the worldly life) those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed. 29 And when the believers used to pass by, they used to gesture at each other with their eyes. 30 And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. 31 and when they saw them, they said [scornfully], "These men have surely gone astray," 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 This day it is those who believe who have the laugh of disbelievers, 34 seated upon their couches, they are looking around. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do? 36
