It is He who sends down water from the skies; you drink thereof, and thereof [drink] the plants upon which you pasture your beasts; 10 And with it He grows for you corn, and the olive and the date-palm and the grape, and all kinds of fruits. Surely, in that is a sign for a people who reflect. 11 He has made the night and the day and the sun and the moon subservient to you; and all the stars are subservient to His command. Surely in this there are signs for men of understanding. 12 And the things He has created for you in the earth, of numerous colours; indeed in this is a sign for people who remember. 13 And it is He who subjected the sea for you to eat from it tender meat and to extract from it ornaments which you wear. And you see the ships plowing through it, and [He subjected it] that you may seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful. 14 He set firm mountains upon the earth lest it should shake with you; and rivers, and roads, in order that you are guided. 15 and He has set up other landmarks. By these and by the stars people set their course. 16 So, could one who creates be like one who cannot? Will you not then contemplate? 17 For, should you try to count God's blessings, you could never compute them! Behold, God is indeed much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace; 18 and God knows all that you keep secret as well as all that you bring into the open. 19 And those whom they worship other than Allah, do not create anything but are themselves created. 20 (They are) dead, not living. And they know not when they will be raised. 21
