And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink. 33 If you follow a mortal like yourselves you will certainly be lost. 34 “Does he promise you that when you die and turn into dust and bones, you will be raised again?” 35 ۞ Such a promise will never come true. 36 There is only the life of this world: We die and we live: there is no rising from the dead for us. 37 He is nothing but a man who attributes his own lying inventions to God, and we are not going to believe him!" 38 He said, "My Lord, support me because they have denied me." 39 He replied: 'Before long, by the morning, they shall be remorseful' 40 The blast justly struck them and We reduced them to rubble. Away with such wicked people! 41 Then We raised up other generations after them, 42 No nation will precede its time [of termination], nor will they remain [thereafter]. 43 Then We sent our messengers one after another. Whenever its messenger came unto a nation they denied him; so We caused them to follow one another (to disaster) and We made them bywords. A far removal for folk who believe not! 44 We then sent Moosa and his brother Haroon, with Our signs and a clear proof. 45 Unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they scorned (them) and they were despotic folk. 46 They said, "Are we to believe in two human beings like ourselves, while their people are subject to us?" 47 They called them liars and consequently were destroyed. 48 We gave Moses the Book so that they might be guided. 49 We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign and gave them shelter on a peaceful hillside watered by a fresh spring. 50
