A token unto them is the dead earth. We revive it, and We bring forth from it grain so that they eat thereof; 33 And We make therein gardens of palms and grapevines and We make springs to flow forth in it, 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 All glory belongs to the One Who has created pairs out of what grow from the earth, out of their soul and out of that which they do not know. 36 A sign for them is the night. From it We withdraw the day and they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing. 38 We have ordained phases for the moon until finally it becomes like an old date-stalk. 39 It is not permitted to the sun that it should overtake the moon, nor can the night outstrip the day: each in an orbit, they float. 40 Another sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark. 41 and [that] We create for them things of a similar kind, on which they may embark [in their travels]; 42 If it were Our will, We could drown them: then there would be no helper [to hear their cry], nor could they be saved. 43 Except as a mercy from Us and provision for a time. 44 But when it is said to them, "Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy... " 45 Never does any Sign of their Lord come to them, but they turn away from it. 46 When they are told to spend for the cause of God out of what He has provided for them for their sustenance, the disbelievers say to the believers, "Should we feed those whom God has decided to feed? You are in plain error." 47 The unbelievers say, "When will the Day of Judgment come if what you say is at all true?" 48 They must be waiting for but one single blast, which will overtake them while they are still disputing. 49 So they shall not be able to make a bequest, nor shall they return to their families. 50
