And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 from Pharaoh; surely he was a high One, of the prodigals; 31 And assuredly We elected them with knowledge above the worlds. 32 and sent them revelations of which some were a clear trial for them. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 Bring back to life our fathers if what you say is true". 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those who were before them whom We destroyed? Indeed they were sinners. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 The Day when Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 save him upon whom God has mercy; He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 42
