Have you heard the story of the honorable guests of Abraham? 24 When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!" - [saying to himself,] "They are strangers." 25 Then he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf, 26 And he set it before them, saying: Will ye not eat? 27 beginning to be afraid of them. But they said, "Don't be afraid"; and they gave him the good news of a son who would be endowed with knowledge. 28 Then his wife came forward, making moan, and smote her face, and cried: A barren old woman! 29 "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, 32 That we may send down upon them stone of clay, 33 which are marked by your Lord for the punishment of those guilty of excesses." 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. 36 And We left there a Sign for such as fear the Grievous Penalty. 37 And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. 42 And in (the tribe of) Thamud (there is a portent) when it was told them: Take your ease awhile. 43 But in their pride they turn away from the commandment of their Lord and the thunderbolt struck them whilst they were looking; 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 (So had We destroyed) the people of Noah before them: They were surely a sinful people. 46
