The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 by the swimmers (angels) swimming gently 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 "'And that I guide thee to thy Lord, so thou shouldst fear Him?'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 Thereupon Allah seized him for the chastisement of the World to Come as well as of the present. 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
