The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the runners breathing pantingly, 1 and produce sparks 2 then raid by the dawn, 3 So thereupon raising dust. 4 Then penetrate to the centre of the enemy army. 5 Most surely man is ungrateful to his Lord. 6 and surely he is a witness against that! 7 for, verily, to the love of wealth is he most ardently devoted. 8 ۞ Knoweth he not that, when the contents of the graves are poured forth 9 And that within the breasts is obtained, 10 On that day will their Lord be perfectly informed concerning them. 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
