In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Alif. Lam. Ra. These are the verses of the Book and the glorious Quran. 1 The unbelievers would haply like to wish that they had submitted (and become Muslim). 2 Leave them that they may eat and enjoy themselves and (that) hope may beguile them, for they will soon know. 3 And never have We destroyed any community [for its wrongdoing] unless a divine writ had [previously] been made known to it; 4 No people can outstrip the term for its destruction nor can it delay it. 5 They say: 'You to whom the Remembrance is sent down, you are indeed mad. 6 Why do you not bring to us the angels if you are of the truthful ones? 7 We send not the angels down except for just cause: if they came (to the ungodly), behold! no respite would they have! 8 Lo! We, even We, reveal the Reminder, and lo! We verily are its Guardian. 9 And assuredly We have sent apostles before thee among the sects of the ancients. 10 And there never came an apostle to them but they mocked him. 11 thus We cause this [habit of mocking] to enter into the hearts of the sinful. 12 they believe not in it, though the wont of the ancients is already gone. 13 And if We open for them a gate in the heavens, to ascend it through the day – 14 They will say all the same: "Our eyes were dazed (and clouded over). We were a people ensorcelled." 15

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
