Whoso blinds himself to the Remembrance of the All-merciful, to him We assign a Satan for comrade; 36 And verily they hinder them from the way, whilst they deem that they are rightly guided. 37 Until, when he comes to Us [at Judgement], he says [to his companion], "Oh, I wish there was between me and you the distance between the east and west - how wretched a companion." 38 It will profit you not this Day (O you who turn away from Allah's remembrance and His worship, etc.) as you did wrong, (and) that you will be sharers (you and your Qarin) in the punishment. 39 Can you, (O Prophet), then make the deaf hear, or direct to the Right Way the blind or one lost in manifest error? 40 Whether We take thee away, We shall take vengeance upon them, 41 Or (if) We show thee that wherewith We threaten them; for lo! We have complete command of them. 42 So hold fast to what has been revealed to you. Surely you are on the Straight Way. 43 The (Qur'an) is indeed the message, for thee and for thy people; and soon shall ye (all) be brought to account. 44 Ask Our Messengers whom We sent before you if We have ever made gods, other than the Merciful, to be worshipped. 45
