a large throng from the ancients, 39 and a throng of the later folk. 40 As for the people on the left hand, how miserable they will be! 41 mid burning winds and boiling waters 42 And the shade of black smoke, 43 which will neither be cool nor soothing. 44 They had lived in luxury before this 45 And used to persist in the awful sin. 46 And they used to say, “When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we surely be raised again?” 47 And also our forefathers?" 48 Proclaim, “Without doubt all – the former and the latter.” 49 shall be gathered to the appointed time of a known day. 50 "Then will ye truly,- O ye that go wrong, and treat (Truth) as Falsehood!- 51 Most surely eat of a tree of Zaqqoom, 52 And will fill your bellies therewith; 53 Then drink over it of boiling water; 54 Drinking even as the camel drinketh. 55 Such will be their dwelling on the Day of Judgment. 56 We! it is We Who created you: wherefore confess ye not? 57 Have you seen sperm? 58 Do you create a child out of it, or are We its creators? 59 We have decreed Death to be your common lot, and We are not to be frustrated 60 that We will change you and cause you to grow again in a way you do not know. 61 And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember? 62 Tell Me! The seed that you sow in the ground. 63 Do you give it its increase, or are We the giver? 64 Were it Our Will, We could crumble it to dry pieces, and you would be regretful (or left in wonderment). 65 (Saying:) 'We are laden with debts! 66 Indeed, we have been deprived of the fruits of our labour." 67 Have ye observed the water which ye drink? 68 Is it you that send it down from the clouds, or are We the senders? 69 If We so pleased, We certainly could make it salty. Why, then, are you not grateful? 70 And have you seen the fire that you ignite? 71 Is it you who have produced its tree or is it We who have produced it? 72 We have made it a reminder and an advantage for the wayfarers of the desert. 73 Then glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 74
