Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 and the severally severing 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 Whether of Justification or of Warning;- 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the sky is split apart. 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients? 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Which We placed in a depository safe. 21 Till a limit known? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle. 25 For the living and the dead among you? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
