The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 but who, when they measure or weigh for others, give less than their due. 3 Do they not think they will be raised to life again 4 for a great Day, 5 the Day when people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 How will you comprehend what Sijjin is? 8 A written record. 9 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 for, none gives the lie to it but such as are wont to transgress against all that is [and are] immersed in sin: 12 [and so,] whenever Our messages are conveyed to them, they but say: "Fables of ancient times!" 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 Indeed! On that Day a barrier will be set between them and their Lord, 15 Then they will indeed burn in Hell. 16 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' 17 Indeed the record of the virtuous is in the highest place, the Illiyin. 18 And what do you know what the Illiyoon are! 19 It is a Book inscribed, 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 Verily the pious will be in heaven, 22 On couches face to face. 23 Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 a spring, the nearest ones to God will drink from it. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 and when they returned to their people they returned blithely, 31 and whenever they see those [who believe,] they say: "Behold, these [people] have indeed gone astray!" 32 But they (disbelievers, sinners) had not been sent as watchers over them (the believers). 33 So Today those who believed are laughing at the disbelievers, 34 On Thrones (of Dignity) they will command (a sight) (of all things). 35 Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do? 36
