Al-Furqaan 3 of 6
۞ And those who expect not for a Meeting with Us (i.e. those who deny the Day of Resurrection and the life of the Hereafter), say: "Why are not the angels sent down to us, or why do we not see our Lord?" Indeed they think too highly of themselves, and are scornful with great pride. 21 On the day when they shall see the angels, there shall be no joy on that day for the guilty, and they shall say: It is a forbidden thing totally prohibited. 22 And We shall turn to whatever deeds they did (in this life), and We shall make such deeds as floating dust scattered about. 23 The dwellers of Paradise on that day will have the best residence and resting place. 24 The day the heavens splits asunder with a dazzling white cloud gathering and the angels descend in a continuous stream, 25 The real sovereignty will belong to Ar-Rahman. How grievous will be the day for the infidels! 26 Upon that Day the harmdoer shall bite his hands, and say: 'Would that I had taken a Path with the Messenger! 27 "Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so-and-so as a friend! 28 Indeed, he led me astray from the remembrance [of God] after it had come unto me!" For [thus it is:] Satan is ever a betrayer of man. 29 And the Noble Messenger submitted, “O my Lord – indeed my people took this Qur’an as worthy of being abandoned.” 30 thus did We assign to every prophet an enemy from among the sinners; your Lord is sufficient as a guide and a helper. 31 The unbelievers have said, "Why was the whole Quran not revealed to him at once?" We have revealed it to you in gradual steps to strengthen your hearts and give you explanations. 32 There is not an example they advance to which We do not give you a right answer and a better explanation. 33 They who shall be gathered prone on their faces unto Hell - those shall be worst in respect of place and the most astray in respect of path. 34

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
