Whoso blinds himself to the Remembrance of the All-merciful, to him We assign a Satan for comrade; 36 And verily they hinder them from the way, whilst they deem that they are rightly guided. 37 Till, when he cometh unto Us, he saith (unto his comrade): Ah, would that between me and thee there were the distance of the two horizons - an evil comrade! 38 (He will then be told): “Today it will not benefit you the least that after your wrong-doing you and your satans now share the chastisement.” 39 Can you [Prophet] make the deaf hear? Or guide either the blind or those who are in manifest error? 40 And even if We take you (O Muhammad SAW) away, We shall indeed take vengeance on them. 41 Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them. 42 So hold thou fast unto that which has been revealed unto thee; surely thou art upon a straight path. 43 And indeed, it is a remembrance for you and your people, and you [all] are going to be questioned. 44 And ask those of Our apostles whom We sent before you: Did We ever appoint gods to be worshipped besides the Beneficent Allah? 45
