And a sign to them is the dead earth: We give life to it and bring forth from it grain so they eat of it. 33 and [how] We make gardens of date-palms and vines [grow] thereon, and cause springs to gush [forth] within it, 34 so that they may eat of the fruit thereof, though it was not their hands that made it. Will they not, then, be grateful? 35 All glory belongs to the One Who has created pairs out of what grow from the earth, out of their soul and out of that which they do not know. 36 And a sign to them is the night: We draw forth from it the day, then lo! they are in the dark; 37 The sun, too, follows its determined course laid down for it by the Almighty, the All Knowing. 38 And the moon, We have determined it in phases till it returns like an old palmbranch. 39 It behoves not the sun to overtake the moon, neither does the night outstrip the day, each swimming in a sky. 40 Another sign for them is that We carried their offspring in the laden Ark. 41 And We have created for them the like of it, what they will ride on. 42 We could have drowned them if We pleased, and none would have answered their cry for help, nor would they have been saved, 43 save as a mercy from Us, and enjoyment for a while. 44 When it is said to such people: “Guard yourselves against what is ahead of you and what has preceded you that mercy be shown to you” (they pay scant heed to it). 45 And no sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord except that they are from it turning away. 46 And when it is said to them, 'Expend of that God has provided you,' the unbelievers say to the believers, 'What, shall we feed such a one whom, if God willed, He would feed? You are only in manifest error!' 47 And they say: "When will this promise come to pass, if what you say is true?" 48 They must be waiting for but one single blast, which will overtake them while they are still disputing. 49 Then they will be unable to make a will, nor shall they return to their kinsmen. 50
