So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 And with Abraham who kept his word: 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
