And if they call you a liar, say: My work is for me and your work for you; you are clear of what I do and I am clear of what you do. 41 Some of them listen to you. But can you make the deaf hear you, even though they cannot understand? 42 Some of them look toward you: But can you show the blind the way even when they cannot see? 43 Surely God does not wrong anyone; they wrong themselves. 44 And on the day when He will raise all of them together, as if they had never stayed on earth except for a moment during the day, they will recognise one another; for completely ruined are those who denied the meeting with Allah and were not on guidance. 45 Whether We let you see some of that with which We promised them, or We call you to Us, to Us they shall return. Allah is witness of the things they do. 46 To every people (was sent) a messenger: when their messenger comes (before them), the matter will be judged between them with justice, and they will not be wronged. 47 And yet, they [who deny the truth] are wont to ask, "When is that promise [of resurrection and judgment] to be fulfilled? [Answer this, O you who believe in it,] if you are men of truth!" 48 (Muhammad), tell them, "I have no control over my suffering or benefits unless God wills. Every nation is destined to live for an appointed time. They can neither delay that time nor can they cause it to come sooner. 49 Say thou: bethink ye, if His torment come on you by night or by day which portion thereof would the culprits hasten on? 50 Then is it that when it has [actually] occurred you will believe in it? Now? And you were [once] for it impatient 51 Then it will be said to those who had wronged, "Taste the punishment of eternity; are you being recompensed except for what you used to earn?" 52 And they ask you: Is that true? Say: Aye! by my Lord! it is most surely the truth, and you will not escape. 53
