“O Noble Messengers, eat good clean things, and do good deeds; I know all that you do.” 51 And verily this religion of yours is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me. 52 But they split in their affair between them into sects, each party rejoicing in what is with them. 53 So leave them in their error for a time. 54 Do they imagine that the wealth and children We have provided 55 We are busy lavishing on them all kinds of good? Nay, they do not perceive the reality of the matter. 56 Surely those who tremble in fear of their Lord 57 And they who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 and who do not ascribe divinity to aught but their Sustainer, 59 Who give whatsoever they give (in His way), and their hearts tremble with fear that they have to go back to their Lord, 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works, and it is they who outrun [all others] in attaining to them! 61 And We do not burden any soul beyond its capacity, and with Us is a Book* that speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. (* The preserved tablet or the record of one’s deeds.) 62 Nay, their hearts are lost in ignorance of all this; and their deeds too vary from the way (mentioned above). They will persist in these deeds 63 So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help. 64 'Groan not today; surely you shall not be helped from Us. 65 “My verses were recited to you, so you used to turn back on your heels.” 66 In arrogance; talking nonsense about the Quran, and left him like one telling fables by night. 67 Have they not pondered the Word, or hath that come unto them which came not unto their fathers of old? 68 Or did you not recognize your Messenger and, thus, denied him (Muhammad) 69 Or, say they: in him is madness? O Aye he brought them the truth, and most of them to the truth are averse. 70 Had the truth followed their caprices, the heavens and the earth and whosoever in them is had surely corrupted. Nay, We brought them their Remembrance, but from their Remembrance they turned. 71 Or is it that thou askest them for some recompense? But the recompense of thy Lord is best: He is the Best of those who give sustenance. 72 And verily thou! thou callest them unto a Path straight. 73 But indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviating from the path. 74 ۞ And if We show mercy to them and remove the distress they have, they would persist in their inordinacy, blindly wandering on. 75 We already seized them with the chastisement, yet they abased not themselves to their Lord nor were they humble; 76 until We opened the gate of greater torment (death) and they suddenly found themselves in despair. 77
