We have explained (the truth) in various ways in this Qur'an, that they may be warned; but it only increased their refractoriness. 41 Say: If there were with Him gods as they say, then certainly they would have been able to seek a way to the Lord of power. 42 Glory be to Him and exalted be He in high exaltation above what they say. 43 The seven heavens and the earth, and all beings therein, declare His glory: there is not a thing but celebrates His praise; And yet ye understand not how they declare His glory! Verily He is Oft-Forbear, Most Forgiving! 44 But [thus it is:] whenever thou recitest the Qur'an, We place an invisible barrier between thee and those who will not believe in the life to come: 45 And We have placed coverings on their hearts and a heaviness in their ears lest they understand it, and when you mention your Lord alone in the Quran they turn their backs in aversion. 46 We are well aware of what they wish to hear when they listen to you and what they say when they confer in whispers, when the wrong-doers say: "You are only following one who is bewitched." 47 See to what they liken you! But they are lost and cannot find the right path. 48 Yet they say: "When we are turned to bones and bits, shall we be raised as a new creation?" 49 Say: Be ye stones or iron 50 ۞ or anything that you think is harder to be brought to life." They will soon ask, "Who will bring us back to life?" Say,"The One who created you in the first place." They will shake their heads and say, "When will He bring us back to life?" Say, "Perhaps very soon. 51 “The day when He will call you and you will come praising Him, thinking you have stayed only a little.” 52
