[Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). 25 And ease my task for me; 26 Remove the defect of my tongue 27 that they may understand my speech. 28 And give to me an aider from my family: 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 To strengthen me 31 and let him share my task, 32 "That we may celebrate Thy praise without stint, 33 And may make mention of Thee oft. 34 Verily, You have always watched over us." 35 Allah said: "You are granted your request, O Musa (Moses)! 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on you another time (before). 37 When we inspired in thy mother that which is inspired, 38 'Put him in a wooden box and cast it in the river. The river will cast it on the bank. An enemy of Ours, and his, will retrieve it.' We bestowed Our love on you that you may be reared under Our eyes. 39 When thy sister went and said: Shall I show you one who will nurse him? and we restored thee to thy mother that her eyes might be refreshed and might not sorrow. And thou didst kill a man and We delivered thee from great distress, and tried thee with a heavy trial. And thou didst tarry years among the folk of Midian. Then camest thou (hither) by (My) providence, O Moses, 40 “And I created you especially for Myself.” 41 "Go, thou and thy brother, with My Signs, and slacken not, either of you, in keeping Me in remembrance. 42 Go both to Firon, surely he has become inordinate; 43 And speak unto him a gentle word, that peradventure he may heed or fear. 44 They said: Our Lord! Lo! we fear that he may be beforehand with us or that he may play the tyrant. 45 The Lord replied them, "Do not be afraid; I Am with you all the time, listening and seeing." 46 They came to the Pharaoh and told him that they were the Messengerss of his Lord and that they wanted him to let the Israelites go with them and stop afflicting the Israelites with torment. They told the Pharaoh, "We have brought miracles from Our Creator. Peace be with those who follow the right guidance. 47 It is revealed to us that those who call our message a lie or turn away from it will face the torment." 48 Pharaoh said:" Moses! Who is the Lord of the two of you?" 49 He said: Our Lord is He Who gave unto everything its nature, then guided it aright. 50 He said: Then what is the state of the former generations? 51 [Moses] answered: "Knowledge thereof rests with my Sustainer [alone, and is laid down] in His decree; my Sustainer does not err, and neither does He forget." 52 [It is He] who has made for you the earth as a bed [spread out] and inserted therein for you roadways and sent down from the sky, rain and produced thereby categories of various plants. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle: verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 54
